ASSOCIATE TEACHER
New York, NY

MJ graduated from Western Kentucky University where she received her BM in piano and vocal music education. At WKU, she participated in a variety of musical ensembles including the WKU Chorale and Women's Chorus. In addition to performing in ensembles, she served as the music director for the WKU TrebleMakers and accompanied the WKU men's and women's choirs. During her time at WKU, she had the opportunity of performing with the WKU Chorale at Carnegie Hall, as well as in Spain and Costa Rica. 

 

MJ completed student teaching at both high school and elementary school levels and has since had the wonderful opportunity to work with musicians of all ages and with varying levels of experience. She has also served as music director for a variety of junior and mainstage productions, including Elf, Junie B. Jones the Musical, Seussical, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

 

MJ's most recent performances include the Baker's Wife in Into the Woods and featured soloist in the WKU Choral Society's performance of Vivaldi's, Gloria. MJ is currently working as a dueling pianist on Holland America Cruise Line. 

 

Abby Kohake is a Kentucky native and alumna of Western Kentucky University (BFA musical theatre). After graduation, Abby worked with students ages 5-18 across the U.S., Portugal, Spain, Italy, and India with Missoula Children's Theatre and the National Theatre for Children. Abby has also worked on the staff of prestigious theatre arts camps such as Governor's School for the Arts and Missoula Children's Theatre Next Step Prep. She is currently working as a resident actor at Greenville Theatre in Greenville, SC. Selected roles and shows include A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder (Woman #1), Alice in Wonderland (White Rabbit/Tour Director), and Guys and Dolls (Sarah Brown). 

Abby also loves practicing the culinary arts and has worked in several professional bakeries. She is known for her Liège waffle sold at Spencer's Coffee in Bowling Green, KY. You can follow along with her bakes or swap recipes at her food-focused Instagram account, @kohakebakes!
